About Bumi Kita Foundation
Bumi Kita Foundation is a non-profit organization registered in France (Association Bumi Kita) and in Indonesia (Yayasan Bumi Kita).
Bumi Kita Foundation was established in Jakarta in 2002 by an international group of people who share a passion for travel, a commitment to the future of this planet, and a long experience in rural development, ecology and social sciences.
In 2002, the international year of ecotourism, we started promoting sustainable tourism and responsible travel, working with small enterprises, NGOs and communities. In 2005, when a tsunami hit the coast of Sumatra in Indonesia, we decided to use our experience in community development to help the refugees to rebuild their lives.
We finance our activities through the sales of our ecotourism guide books, the support of our sponsors, and individual donations. We also receive a lot of help from volunteers. Contact us if you wish to help !
